Các thông số mặc định của chương trình được tập trung ở tính năng Preferences, bạn có thể mở tính năng này tại nút Preferences trên thanh công cụ hoặc vào menu Tool > chọn Preferences.
- Thẻ General: cung cấp một số tùy chọn như: Start Orbit on system startup (khởi động chương trình cùng với Windows), Show main windows on startup (hiển thị cửa sổ khi khởi động), Warning when download duplicate link (cảnh báo khi gặp trùng đường dẫn), Notify on download completion (thông báo khi tiến trình tải hoàn tất), Notify on download failure (thông báo khi tiến trình tải không thành công), Check for update automatically (kiểm tra, cập nhập phiên bản mới).
-Thẻ Location: Bạn nhấn nút Browse bên dưới dòng chữ Default location of downloaded files để duyệt đến thư mục mới cần lưu trữ tập tin. Nếu xuất hiện hai tập tin trùng tên thì bạn chọn một trong hai cách giải quyết: Rename-đổi tên, Overwrite-ghi đè, ở phía sau dòng chữ If the file already exists.
-Thẻ Download/Connection: Cũng giống như các chương trình tăng tốc tải tập tin khác, Orbit Downloader cũng chia tập tin thành nhiều phần trong quá trình tải về. Mặc định, chương trình sẽ chia làm 8 phần bằng nhau nhưng bạn có thể thay đổi thông số này tại mục Connections to the original URL (tối đa là 10). Ngoài ra, bạn có thể tự đặt quy tắc chia nhỏ một tập tin ở một website nào đó, bằng cách nhấn New bên cạnh khung Exceptions. Trong hộp thoại hiện ra, bạn nhập tên miền của website tại ô Server theo cách http://*www.abc.com.vn*, rồi chọn số phần chia nhỏ ở ô Max original connection number.
